A Legacy on the Road
In 1990, my mother and her best friend embarked on an unexpected journey—one that would shape the lives of countless new drivers. My mother, who had ironically failed her driving test the first time, refused to let that define her. With determination and a shared vision, she and her best friend founded Rustenburg Driving School.
Back then, the roads were quieter, the rules a little more forgiving, and the internet was non-existent—no Facebook, no Instagram, no flashy online ads. The business grew purely through word-of-mouth, built on trust, reputation, and the simple promise of teaching people to drive safely and confidently.
For 30 Years, my mother and her friend poured their energy into the school, despite having no formal business training. They relied on their network, their small-town connections, and a relentless drive to figure things out. Rustenburg was a close-knit community then, and that sense of support helped them build something truly special.
When I turned 18, I stepped into the driver’s seat—not just as a student, but as the youngest QUALIFIED driving instructor in Rustenburg. NOW I HAVE 25 YEAR’S EXPERIENCE IN THE INDUSTRY, FROM LEARNERS, CODE 08, CODE 10, CODE 14, CODE EB AND MOTORCYCLE.
Eventually, my path led me to Pretoria, Centurion, and the surrounding areas, where My Lovely Wife and I continue to do what We love—teaching people how to drive. After all these years, nothing compares to the joy of seeing a student’s beaming smile when they conquer their test, from nervous beginners gripping the wheel for the first time to those who ace their exam on the first try.
The road rules may have evolved, but the essence of driving remains unchanged: confidence, skill, and safety. And from learner to licensed driver, I’ll be there every step of the way—just like my mother was for so many before me.
